Chocolate Strawberry Fudgy Brownies made with Greek Yogurt

  • 1/4 cup softened butter
  • 1 cup white granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup lightly packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup vanilla or plain greek yogurt
  • 1/3 cup strawberry preserves
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 3/4 cups white whole wheat flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 cup chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons chocolate chips to sprinkle on top optional


  • Preheat oven to 350 degree.
  • In a large bowl mix together the butter and sugars.
  • Mix in the greek yogurt, strawberry preserves, eggs, and pure vanilla extract.
  • Stir in the cocoa powder until the wet mixture turns dark and chocolatey.
  • Add the flour, salt, and baking powder to the wet mixture and slowly stir until all the ingredients are combined.
  • Slow stir in the 1/4 cup of chocolate chips.
  • Pour brownie batter into a 9-inch baking dish (sprinkle additional chocolate chips over top if you like) and bake for 22-23 minutes.
  • Let the brownies cool in the pan.
  • Serve warm, at room temperature, or chilled.

Make-ahead tips
These brownies can be made ahead of time and frozen up to 3 months. When you are ready to eat a brownie let it thaw on the counter for 15 - 30 minutes. I enjoy them slightly frozen.
