It is finally warm in Buffalo – YAY! Today it got over 70 degrees and seriously it felt surreal. It was so nice to sit out on my deck, listen to some country music, and drink my coffee. It also made me excited for summer because this year I have June and July off from work and I CAN’T WAIT. This is my first time having part of the summer off. It is going to be amazing to just enjoy the warm days instead of looking at them through my office window.
Anyway, with the weather being warm this weekend it reminded me that I do not have any spring or summer clothes – sooo I went shopping. Well shopping made me realize I need to pay a little more attention to my food and treadmill. Now, I by no means did I feel like I did 4 years ago where I absolutely hated shopping for clothes but…I did not feel as good as I did last year trying on clothes.
These last few weeks have been tough. Work, life, and everything in between has really caught up with me. I try very hard to stick to my menu plan and exercise schedule but some days are better than others and at the end of the day I know I can do better. I saw a quote on pinterest that said, “If you know you can do better than do better”. So simple yet so true. This week I vow to do better.
- I am going to keep my calories at 1500 a day and track with My Fitness Pal to hold myself accountable.
- I am going to make it a #1 priority to exercise at least 4 times this week.
- I am not going to eat after 7pm.
- I am going to follow the 15 healthy habits that got me to where I am today.
Let’s talk about my exercise routine this week. I love my running. It helps me clear my head and keep me focused. So just like previous weeks I am going to run 4-5 times this week. Each time I will run at least 2.5 miles.
Now usually I have crunches as part of my routine. In addition to my crunches I am going to add in some of the exercises she suggests. I love having an exercise person on the OYS team. I hope you learn as much from her as I do.
Then I will work on arms with pushups and triceps extensions. And of course lounges and squats to keep my booty in shape.
To get a full workout in I need about 1 hr 15 mins in the morning. This means if I don’t want to be rushed then I need to start no later than 6:15am.
Okay now onto my menu plan. My kids and husband are on spring break this week so meals will be a little haphazard. I still have burritos, tacos, and such in the freezer so I will depend on freezer meals or simple pantry meals for dinner along with some other easy dinner recipes. Breakfast and lunch will be smoothies and mason jar salads.
Make ahead tip
Smoothies can be made into frozen smoothie packs. However, I usually just make the morning of.
